Biography of Manon Posthuma
My name is Manon Posthuma and I was born on June 24th, 1977.

After graduating from High School and PABO (Pedagogical Academy for Primary Education) I travelled along
the North American East Coast for four months  and taught there at several places.

Afterwards I was teaching in the Netherlands on many different kinds of Schools, including Waldorf Schools (Anthroposophic).

I got through the selection for the Art Academy of Fine Arts in 2001, mainly painting.
After several years I got selected to the Full-Time study and in terms of painting I developed and flourished there very well. Two years later I graduated for my Bachelor with a series of Paintings and also some Poetry. I also finished one subject; "Media Considerations" at the University of Twente.

I taught for over 6 years NT2 (Dutch as a Second Language) lessons. I also gave my own Painting Workshops with Meditations and Visualisations.

For over five years I have had intensively practised Vipassanã (Insight Meditation) and took several courses including Reiki, Phytotherapy (Herbal Medicines for people).
I also gave Team-Building Workshops where the starting point was to create a painting together as a team or subteams.
I have also been a  teacher in Dutch language at the VMBO (16 year old students). And I also gave Private lessons and have been teaching to people of several kinds of ages.

Last couple of years I was studying Art Therapy and followed Medical Painting Therapy classes for a short while and took Eurythmy classes (a Dance Art form), all based on Rudolf Steiners "Antroposofie".

Currently I have my own Exhibition at the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in The Hague. I am also busy with my research question in which the element of Movement is the central focal point, both in Autonome Painting and in the Dance and Music aspects of it.
